Josiah and I (Maggie) met through mutual friends while we both served as Ministry Partners on our dorm floors at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. In the early months of 2023, we started hanging out in groups of friends and eventually found ourselves spending an increasing amount of time together. Josiah eventually asked me out on a date and a month later he asked me to be his girlfriend! Our first date consisted of laser tag, (Josiah’s idea of the best first date ever :)) a trip to Minnehaha Falls and dinner. Throughout the summer we were blessed to spend a lot of time with both of our families on cabin weekends and camping trips!

As we celebrated our one-year anniversary, we looked back and had so much to be thankful for! We were grateful for a year of adventure, laughs, love, fun, and growing together in the Lord.

Our second year brought more adventures. We attended the “Five16Festival”, a “red-carpet” style event that our undergrad hosted each spring. We went on our first big trip together with friends to South Carolina! We got to celebrate some of our closest friends getting married! Josiah also traveled with my family to Florida for Christmas and it was so special to spend our first holiday together!

Celebrating our 2-year anniversary led us to thinking about marriage and dreaming of the life we would get to build together. I was convinced that Josiah would propose in late 2025 but obviously I am easier to surprise them I thought :) Josiah proposed under the stars on July 20th, 2025, and this was the most special day of our lives! (and by the way – it was PERFECT!!!) We can NOT wait to see what the Lord has in store for us in marriage and it is our hope that all we do would glorify Him!
